First, greetings sister!! Thank you muchly for subscribing to/following my blog–it’s a lovely gesture of faith. I’m thoroughly enjoying meeting so many believers who have writing blogs–who knew?? I love how you arrived at your “name story”–wonderful! And yes, I know the Joy of the Lord–although for most of my life I was “saved but depressed”, which I’m convinced is more bleak that being a “lost soul”–without a relationship with God through Jesus. On top of being miserable, I felt guilty because “Christians” are supposed to be the happiest people on earth–hello? we’re not in Disneyland, we still live in the world!
Anyway, I’m blathering on–I love that you encourage “guest testimonies”! Last Easter, when God delivered me from depression, I wrote a testimony called, “It’s Not Too Late”. But it’s 15-pages long–so when I get some “free” time to edit it down to a manageable length, I plan to post it on my blog. So, maybe we could check in later about that….
By the way, I received the Versatile Blogger Award for a reason: since August when I started the blog, I’ve posted a lot of “older” poems which illustrate pain (sad love poems) or the “struggling journey of my faith walk”. And of course, there are poems which reflect the huge goodness of God, and victory, as well. It’s important to me to be authentic–and I hope that, if someone who doesn’t know the Lord visits & reads a poem they like which sounds “secular”, they may keep coming back & end up reading the faith-based ones–and who knows what might happen?!!
So, I guess that’s my disclaimer–I’m a totally in love with Jesus Christian woman, but not all my work is “about Jesus”. It’s not “compromise”–I just want to show all sides of myself, a full-spectrum person. (My short story series has been popular, & features a slightly neurotic–in an entertaining way–middle-aged “frumpy” Christian lady who lives next door to a non-believing man. It’s not a romance, but she is trying to love him to Jesus with all her cooking and baking.)
I’ve gone way past my word limit, I’m sure–again, thanks for visiting, & I’ll be back here once the holiday buzzing slows down. Wishing you the best Christmas ever–may God richly bless you!!
